On the Graham Parker list came across this interesting web page which tries (and to my mind succeeds) to be a comprehensive list of people who have done Elvis Costello covers.

Trying to keep track of music and bands. Two bands coming soon to Chicago that are of interest and which I can't see are The Darkness and Four Tet.

Meanwhile, coming this Wednesday to Gabe's are The Pernice Brothers with The Bigger Lovers. Meanwhile, the same night in Grinnell The Decemberists are playing. The Long Winters were supposed to open also in Iowa City but aren't anymore.

So I was trying to remember the name of the band who opened for Yo La Tengo when they played at Grinnell last year (September 26, 2003) at the Harris Center. Finally remembered, it was the Aislers Set. Yo La Tengo were awesome, the Aislers Set were good but not great but I am still interested in looking up some of their recordings.
